Managing Partner and Founder

John formed Crestlight in 2017 and is responsible for strategic direction and overseeing operations for the firm.

Prior to Crestlight, John worked at The Blackstone Group and was directly responsible for managing 75 assets with a total enterprise value of $5.6 billion and overseeing a team of 150 investment professionals at Equity Office Properties (Blackstone portfolio company) and a staff of 3 analysts.  John managed office investments in 10 markets across the United States. Prior to Blackstone, John worked as an Assistant Vice President at Rockwood Capital, a real estate fund with $6.5 billion in assets under management, and was directly responsible for 9 office, retail and multifamily properties with a total enterprise value of $745 million while also providing acquisition support in each market. Prior to Rockwood Capital, John worked as an Associate Vice President at DTZ Rockwood underwriting 16 separate portfolio transactions totaling 9 million square feet. John received a Bachelors in Business Administration from the Stephen M. Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan.  After living in New York City for 12 years, John, with his wife and their two children, recently moved to the Detroit area where their families grew up.
